Bristol Tower

The two Bristol Towers in Dubai for Deyaar Development seem at first glance to be separate 15 and 20 level structures standing independent from each other. But a closer view of the spatial organization reveals a far more sophisticated understanding of the principals of site design and structure. The buildings are in fact, one continuous form with the vertical thrust of the towers turned gracefully into the horizontal to create a new, ground-level form fronting on the Dubai waterfront.

The towers, containing occupiable space, are fully glazed to take advantage of expansive views in all directions. The side walls facing the path of the sun are protected with vertical solar screening devices to reduce solar heat gain and limit the need for mechanical air conditioning.
