Islamic Research Center
The Centre for Islamic Research and Culture at Aston University will be a symbol of the past, present and future of Islamic culture. It will incorporate academic, educative, social and creative functions, providing a unique combination of services in a prime location in the centre of Birmingham, bridging gaps and encouraging productive cooperation between diverse elements of the community.
The Centre for Islamic Research and Culture is envisaged as a hybrid of contemporary and Islamic architecture. The building will function as an educational tool by showcasing Islamic architectural principles and motifs, but will also fit within the contemporary architectural context of the UK and Europe.
